Chapter 11 Lessons 1-4






In the first few lessons we are introduced to the blob brush and how to fusing the paths we make with it together and the eraser tool which allows us to erase previously made paths. Finally the instructor shows us where to go to reassign keyboard shortcuts.

Chapter 10 Lessons 4-7

In these lesson we are shown how to draw straight and perpendicular lines and how to create a tracing template as well as combine a drawing tablet with the program and finally add color to our tracing.

In lessons 1-3 we are introduced to the pencil tool as well as the smooth tool and path eraser tool and how they can be used in a variety of different ways to extend paths and connect them.

Chapter 9 Lessons 13-15



In the final lessons of chapter 9 we are introduced to the shaper tool and how to use it to create simple shapes as well as combine those shapes.

Chapter 9 Lessons 5-12



Lessons 5-12 are all about making a real world project inside illustrator using lots of different processes such as inset reflections and coloring paths with the shape builder tool.

Chapter 9 Lessons 1-4



In Lessons 1-4 we were introduced to the join command and join tool as well as the shape builder tool and all the different ways to use it.

Chapter 8

Chapter 8 is all about how to create paragraphs as if they were out of a book inside illustrator. It goes through every small detail such as working with point type, seeing up page margins, wrapping text around pictures and creating type on a path.

Chapter 7 Lessons 9-13

In the final lessons of chapter seven we are taught how to create custom width profiles, how to make a gear, dotted outlines. As well as how to create depth using multiple strokes and how to combine multiple strokes.

Chapter 7 Lessons 5, 6, 7, and 8



In Lessons 5-8 we are shown how to use the width tool to adjust the width of a stroke using both preset widths and precise custom ones. As well as how to align strokes to paths using the width tool.

Chapter 7 Lessons 1, 2, 3, and 4





In the first few lessons of Chapter 7 we learn about line weight and how we can change it and how that same line weight corresponds with paths. Finally we were shown how Caps and Joins can be used in a variety of different ways.

Chapter 6


Chapter 6 is all about Colors and Swatches and how they can be used. He starts off with introducing the RGB and CMYK color modes and then transitions into Hues, Saturation, and Brightness. He then continues with how to select a color from a spectrum ramp, how to create and use swatches and how to use global swatches. He then discusses how to auto-deleting and adding swatches how to load swatches from another document and how to eye dropper tool is used.

Chapter 5 Lessons 16 and 17



In the final lessons of chapter 5 we are taught how to use the flare tool and the effect the tilde key has on the line segment tool.

Chapter 5 Lessons 13, 14, and 15



In Lessons 13, 14, and 15 we are shown how to move and duplicate one star to create a row of stars. How to access the group isolation feature, and how to create a simple drop shadow.

Chapter 5 Lessons 10, 11, and 12



In Lessons 10, 11, and 12 we were taught how to use the polygon and star tools, how live polygons can be manipulated and how to create a perfect 5 point star.

Chapter 5 Lessons 7, 8, and 9



In lessons 7, 8, and 9 we learned how to round the edges of rectangles as well as how to create simple reflections and how to rotate previously created items.

Chapter 5 Lessons 4, 5, and 6




In lessons 4, 5, and 6 we are shown how to create two perfect circles with the ellipse tool. As well as how to cut out a part of a circle or any shape using the compound path tool, and how to use the rectangle tool.

Chapter 5 Lessons 1, 2, and 3



In Lessons 1, 2, and 3 of chapter 5 we are taught how to create templates, how to use the ellipse tool and how to create pies out of ellipses.

Chapter 4 Lessons 12, 13, and 14



In the final lessons of Chapter 4 we are shown how to add a circular end to a spiral we create, how to adjust a previously made arc and who to group and center everything on an art board.

Chapter 4 Lessons 8, 9, 10, and 11



In lessons 8, 9, 10, and 11 we are introduced to the Arc, Spiral, Rectangular Grid, and Polar Grid tools.

Chapter 4 Lessons 5,6, and 7



In lessons 5, 6, and 7 we were taught how to use the move command and how it can be used to copy moved lines as well as the scissors tool to cut two lines at the point they intersect and the join transformation which creates a smooth connection between two lines instead of the jagged cuts that are made by default.

Chapter 4 Lessons 3&4



In lessons 3 and 4 we not only learned how to draw perfectly straight lines using the line segment tool but also how to duplicate those lines to make a perfect copy in a matter of seconds.
